Following the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Belgium and our country in 1838, the first Ottoman delegates were appointed to serve in Brussels in 1848. On November 24, 1849 Ambassador Kalamaki Bey presented a letter of confidence to the then Belgian King Leopold of Belgium. Since then, our relations with the Kingdom of Belgium have continued uninterrupted except during the wartime.

Currently, Rue Montoyer 4, 1000 Bruxelles residing in Belgium, our building was purchased in 1985. The opening of our renovated land for the renovations under the scope of major repairs was held on 6 October 2015 by the President of the Republic of Cyprus in Belgium with the visit of the State Visit.

​There are two Consulate General in Belgium (Brussels and Antwerp) serving in accordance with our Embassy. We also have an Honorary Consulate in Brugge.

Our Embassy provides services such as Armed Forces Attachment, Commercial Counselor, Justice Consultancy, Culture and Promotion Consultancy, Social Affairs Consultancy, Labor and Social Security Consultancy, Training Consultancy, Customs Consultancy, Press Consultancy and Police Consultancy.

The Consulate General of Brussels, which has been serving since 1966, provides consular services (passport, population, military service, citizenship, notary publicity, notification, etc.) to approximately 125,000 Turkish citizens living in the capital Brussels Region, Wallon Region and Brabant Flemish (Vlaams Brabant) visa procedures).​

The Consulate General is a state-owned property at the address of “Rue Montoyer 4, 1000, Bruxelles”, where our Chancellor of Our Embassy in Brussels is located, serving with a staff of 26 people.

Our mission is to follow our education, religious services, social security, customs, trade, culture and tourism issues in our territory by our respective consultants operating under our Brussels Embassy.
