Trabzon ( ancient Greek : Τραπεζοῦς Trapezus , Pontic Language : Τραπεζούντα in Trapezu , Georgian : ტრაპიზონი T’rap’izo the , Laz : T’rapuz new or T’amtr to  ), Turkey ‘s province and the most populous twenty-ninth city. Trabzon Province Population: 779.379 (end of 2016).  The Black Sea Region of the Black Sea Region is located in the Eastern Black Sea Region. The city, which was restored during the Roman Emperor Hadrian period, became the capital of Pontus Cappadocia province during the period of Trajan and a new port was built in the city.  In the Gallienus period, a Germanic tribe was looted by the Goths  , I. Justinianus the city was not restored to its glorious days. In the 6th century Byzantine warfare with the Sassanids , in the 7th century the city became important again due to the Arab raids. It was then the main city of the newly established Haldia region. After the 1st Bayezid took Samsun region in 1398, the Kingdom of Trabzon was obliged to pay annual tax to the Ottoman State. David Komnenos stopped paying taxes in the period of his rule (1458-1461), proposed to return his previous payment through the Akkoyunlu State Sultan Uzun Hasan , and proposed an alliance with the Ottoman Empire against the great states in Europe. On this, Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror emerged from Edirne on March 23, 1461 and was surrounded by the sea for a while, surrendered with resistance by Yorgi Amiruki , the chief minister of Trabzon King David Komnenos, who was close to Veli Mahmud Pasha .
Trabzon which was passed to the Ottoman administration was turned into a starboard. The sanjak, which was administered for a while, was later bound to the Rum Province . Due to the fact that the center of Sanjak was in Trabzon, it was named as the city on the starboard side. While passing to the Ottoman rule, some of the city dwellers were sent to Istanbul, Edirne and other cities  , and Çepni and other Turkmen communities were placed in Trabzon  .
In 1470, the starlet was given to Şehzade Abdullah at a young age; Abdullah lived in Trabzon until 1479 with his mother Şirin Hatun. Yavuz Sultan Selim was also found as the Sancak Beyi in Trabzon (1491-1512) during the şehtühendi, and his son Sultan Süleyman who was later to take the title of Kanuni was born here.
