Turkey – Tajikistan Political Relations
Turkey had recognized Tajikistan’s independence on December 16, 1991, and January 29, 1992 in the two countries established diplomatic relations. The Embassy of Dushanbe opened on 4 August 1992 and the Embassy of Tajikistan in Ankara opened on 16 October 1995. Our embassy continued to serve in Tajikistan during the civil war in 1992-1997.
The Turkish-Tacik associations rise on a strong cultural heritage that we share with great thinkers such as Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi. Today there is a strong will in both countries to develop relations in every field.
Tajikistan Attaining institutional basis for the relations during the visit of President Emomali Rahman our country on December 18, 2012 order “Cooperation between the Council of the Republic of Tajikistan Joint Statement on the Establishment of the Republic of Turkey” was signed.
Foreign Minister Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, on the occasion of his visit to Tajikistan on October 21, 2016 “The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation Plan covering the years 2017-2020” was signed.
- Our Joint Economic Co-Chair and Deputy Prime Minister in the framework of the meeting of the Turkey-Tajikistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) Co-chairman Mr Tugrul Turkes Lightning, CAKE IX. He made a visit to Dushanbe on 15-17 February 2017 to realize the period meeting.
Turkey and Tajikistan in the UN, OIC and nominations close cooperation and solidarity within the framework of international organizations in international bodies such as the ECO is available.
