Turkey – Solomon Islands Relations

Turkey – Diplomatic relations between the Solomon Islands was established on March 8, 1979. We are the Embassy of Canberra to the Solomon Islands.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Oti from the Solomon Islands participated in the United Nations Conference on Foreign Ministers of Least Developed Countries held in Istanbul on 9-11 July 2007. 9 to 11 April 2008, again in Turkey-Pacific Islands Solomon Islands Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Istanbul on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister William Haomai to have participated.

At the United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (EAGU) held in Istanbul on 9-13 May 2011, Solomon Islands, under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga, Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Peter Shanel Agovaka, Development Planning and Assistance Coordination He was represented by a delegation of Minister Parliamentarian Snyder Rini. Emerging from 7 to 8 June 2014 in Istanbul Turkey-Pacific Small Island States Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Clay Frau Soalao participated. Melchior Mataki, Minister of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology, participated in the World Humanitarian Summit held on 23-24 May 2016 in Istanbul.

Our country is in various aid to the Solomon Islands through TIKA, especially against natural disasters.
