Turkey – Political Relations with Morocco
Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Morocco are Moroccan independence after winning the April 17th in 1956 by the Governments of the two countries announced the same day has been established with partners.
Every aspect of our relations with Morocco is developing and our country sees Morocco as an important member of the Middle East, Africa, Mediterranean and Islamic world. There is mutual will in this framework that our bilateral relations are strengthened in every field.
The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco Osmani to our country on 18-20 March 2012 was the first visit to our country from the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the level of Foreign Minister after 25 years.
King of Morocco VI. At the end of December 2014 Mohammed came to Istanbul with his family during a special visit and met with the President of the Republic of Turkey during his visit.
During the official visit to Morocco on 3-4 June 2013, the Joint Political Declaration on the Establishment of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (YDSK) was signed by the President of the Republic of Turkey. It is foreseen that the first meeting of YDSK will be held in our country this year.
Moroccan President Abdelilah Benkiran visited our country on August 28, 2014 to participate in the swearing ceremony of President Mr. Sayin, who was elected as the 12th President.
A delegation composed of high-ranking members of the judiciary under the chairmanship of the Supreme Court of Appeals İsmail Rüştü Cirit visited Morocco on 19-24 January 2016 to attend the opening ceremony of the judicial year as a guest of honour.
