Turkey – Fiji Political Relations
Diplomatic relations between our country and Fiji were established on November 17, 1975.
Fiji embassy is located in Wellington. In the coming period, it is envisaged to open an Embassy in Suva, the capital of Fiji.
Fiji has an Honorary Consulate in Istanbul. On 9-11 April 2008, organized by Turkey in Istanbul – Pacific Islands Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Fiji time representing the Foreign Affairs, a positive momentum in relations after the International Cooperation and Civil Aviation Minister Ratu Epeli Nailatikau’s participation was arrested.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between our country and Fiji civil aviation authorities on September 28, 2009, and the Air Transportation Agreement was issued.
Our country provides various supports through the TİKA to the development of Fiji.
7 to 8 June 2014 in the Small Island Developing States held in Istanbul, Turkey-Pacific Foreign Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Meeting period Fiji Ratu Inoke Kubuabol participated.
Fiji Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama attended the World Humanitarian Summit held on 23-24 May 2016 in Istanbul.
