Turkey – Equatorial Guinea Relations
Our Embassy in Yaounde to Equatorial Guinea, Equatorial Guinea accredited to the Embassy of Turkey in Brussels. In accordance with the Council of Ministers Decision 2015/7578; our country has decided to open an embassy in Malabo, the capital of Ecuador Ginesi, and has also started operating on 1 June 2018.
Our country has an Honorary Consulate in Bata, Ecuador Ginesi, which has been operating since November 2009. President Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea participated in the First Turkey-Africa Cooperation Summit on 18-21 August 2008 and Summit has come together with our President Mr. margin.
Prime Minister Vicente Ehate Tomi representing the President of Equatorial Ginesi participated in the handover ceremony of the presidency held on August 28, 2014.
- Equatorial Guinea’s capital city of Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit was held 19-21 November 2014 in Malabo. In the margin of the summit, Mr. President made an official visit to Equatorial Ginesi. During the visit, he reached agreement with Ecuador Ginesi on diplomacy education; cultural business association agreement; a memorandum of understanding on business associations in agriculture; economic, commercial and technical business association agreement and the removal of visas for diplomatic passport holders were signed.
In 2017, total trade volume was US $ 51.77 million (exports of US $ 21.58 million and imports of US $ 30.19 million).
A large portion of our exports to Equatorial Ginesi comprise cement (US $ 6.7 million), wheat flour (US $ 4.5 million), paper products (US $ 3 million), and machinery. If it is close to the whole of our import, it is made of liquefied natural gas taken from this country by BOTAŞ.
– Within the scope of visa facilitation activities for African businessmen, SAGA countries, including Ecuador Ginesi, who travel with THY, started to apply for a single residence visa for residents of Schengen, UK or US visas at the border gate of Ataturk Airport for up to 30 days.
The Equator is living in Ginesi with about 150 citizens. Most of them work in construction companies. Since 1992, Turkey Bursa scope of Equatorial Guinea are given scholarships to 3 students.
