Turkey-Czech Republic Relations
Since the establishment of our diplomatic relations with Czechoslovakia in 1924, the Turkish-Czech relations have always been friendly, if the interruption of the country under German occupation of 1939-1945 and the subsequent stability of the Cold War are left aside. Since 1989, when Czechoslovakia passed democracy, our relations have been steadily growing. The Czech Republic, which was established on 1 January 1993 after the division of Czechoslovakia, was recognized on the same day by us.
The Czech Republic, which maintains good relations, supports our country’s EU accession process.
Mr. President visited the Czech Republic in February 2013 when he was the Prime Minister and during the visit he decided to establish a High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (YDSK) between the two countries and studies are underway to establish the YDSK.
Following the visit of the President of the Czech Chamber of Representatives Jan Hamacek to the Republic of Turkey on 13-16 January 2015, the Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek visited the Czech Republic to participate in the forum held on 26th and 27th January 2015, with the seventh anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi Collecting Camps. visited.
Czech Foreign Minister Zaoralek the period 12 to 14 May 2015. NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Antalya in the history of the V4 + Foreign Ministers of Turkey has visited our country on the occasion. Foreign Minister Zaoralek also conducted a study visit to my country on 8-9 February 2016,
