Turkey-Belarus Relations

Turkey became the first country to recognize the independence of Belarus, diplomatic relations were established on March 25, 1992. On the basis of constructive dialogue with Belarus we are progressing in a positive way. Recently there has been an increase in bilateral contacts and visits.

President visited our country in Minsk on November 11, 2016 and 9 documents were signed between the two countries. During the visit, the construction of the Minsk Mosque, which was started in 2003 and completed in 2016, was undertaken by 2013. This visit of Mr. President made our country the first visit to Belarus at this level.

Our bilateral trade with Belarus in 2016 amounted to US $ 461 million (exports of US $ 358 million, imports of US $ 103 million). The total investments of 45 Turkish companies operating in Belarus in this country amount to 1.2 billion dollars. Turkish contractors have undertaken 46 projects worth $ 918 million from 1991, when they started their operations in Belarus.

Our country is the embassy in the capital Minsk. Embassy of Belarus in Ankara; There are Honorary Consulates in Adana, Antalya, Alanya, Bursa and İzmir with the Consulate General in Istanbul.
