Turkey – Angola Relations
Turkey, Angola gained its independence was recognized in 1975. Our country attaches great importance to developing its relations with Angola in the framework of the African Initiative policy initiated in 1998. In this direction, our Embassy in Luanda began its activities on 1 April 2010. The official opening of the Angolan government’s Embassy in Ankara took place on 4 April 2013.
Angola and Turkey between political, economic and cultural relations, the creation of every aspect of the infrastructure and partnerships to gain momentum and content; It is also aimed at the reciprocal visits of the authorities of the two countries in this framework.

The Commercial, Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed on August 22, 2008 forms the basis of trade and economic relations between our country and Angola.
Our bilateral trade volume with Angola reached US $ 188 million in 2017. Our exports to this country have been declining since 2014 due to economic troubles in Angola. Our main export items are food, textile, apparel and construction products.
Turkey has so far covered by the 1992 Scholarships is provided 11 scholarships to Angolan students.
Our country is in Angola development assistance in various fields through the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA).
